WOLF ALICE
Wolf Alice, who were originally an acoustic duo in 2010 are now known for being an Alt-rock band originating from North London. They're a 4 piece with Ellie Rowsell taking lead Vocals, Joff Oddie on Guitar and Vocals, Joel Amey on Drums and Theo Ellis on Bass. In 2014 they released a single called," Moaning Lisa Smile." Which was nominated for a Grammy award in 2016 and reached number 9 on Billboards Alternative songs charts in 2015.
In 2018, Wolf Alice were nominated for a Mercury Prize and had their second studio album, "Visions of a Life" released in 2017, which hit number 2 in the UK album charts.

After much success, Wolf Alice have made a name for themselves and performed at many festivals including Reading/Leeds festival and Latitude.
I was lucky enough to get to witness Wolf Alice's performance at this years Latitude Festival as they were opened with open arms and such enthusiastic crowds.

Wolf Alice's sound is Alt- Rock and grungey but ultimately it is beautiful and they remind me a lot of The XX.
They are passionate and emotional. I guess you just have to listen for yourself.
What was it like to play latitude festival this year?
It was great! We flew in from Madrid in the morning and had a lush drive through the countryside to get there. We've played a couple of times, and it's always treated us well, so to return and grace the main stage was a pleasure.
What would you say your greatest achievement is, so far?
Hmm not sure if this is really the answer, but I still have to pinch myself that we've made two albums. It seemed like both a lifetime ago and 5 mins that we were jamming the riff to fluffy in a tiny rehearsal room in Holloway; everything that we've done has kinda inspired us to move onto the next thing, or to aim higher than whatever we do previous. I guess, like most bands, its more the sum of all these tiny little things you do together that stay with you than just one single thing.
What is your favourite thing about touring with each other?
I'm very lucky to be in a band with people who, if we weren't always together, i'd call up and see if they wanted to hang out. to travel the world and share experiences with people you love is a very lucky thing indeed.
How does music make you feel / has it ever been your therapy?
I find therapy in most forms of art I guess; movies I use to switch off, books to switch on and then music (the most important to me) I use to be myself; to express and present, to experiment and challenge myself. I can always turn to music when I need it, and for as long as I can remember it has been my sole focus.

What makes music so important to you?
Its the ultimate form of expression for me, it will continually surprise me and move me in ways that nothing else can; for that its the most exciting art form for me.
What is your favourite original song of your own?
I love what we've done on our new record, and hearing how far we've come to record a song like Visions of a Life.
What is something you'd still like to achieve as a band?
This is just the tip of the iceberg! there so much more to do, to play, places to visit, sounds to make.

What is the most surreal musical experience you've had?
For me, as a life long Queens of the Stone Age fan, to tour with them and to watch them every night and have them make us feel so welcome and so positive about what we're doing was both surreal and a bit of a dream come true. to look over to the side of the stage and see the people who had a huge impact on my musical life was surreal indeed!
