STILLIA

What makes music so important to you?

Music's always been a big part of my life. Ever since being a kid growing up. Being brought up supporting Manchester City, music was always a big part of that with the whole Manchester Music Scene. Oasis, Stone Roses, Mondays etc. But I've always had a huge love for 50's 60's era.

What's your favourite original you have written?

I've got to agree Cold Coffee is a song that we're all pretty proud of. I think we've all got our own personal favourite tunes of ours in the band. My personal favourite would have to be 4AM. It's just a real song, with real lyrics and a lot attitude and passion put in to the record and also when we play it live. We open with that song at the minute in the set list. Everything about the song I love.

What has been your favourite gig to play so far?

There's been so many great gigs it's hard to pick. We had loads of great gigs when we toured with Ocean Colour Scene over in Dubai, Australia and New Zealand. Kendal calling main stage last year was great. There's to many. We love them all

Where do you see yourself in 5 years musically?

Were really tight and close as a band and really ambitious, passionate and believe in what we do. We want to be able to sell out bigger and bigger venues across the U.K and over seas.
We're confident in our songs. So we'll have to see what comes.

How does music make you feel / has it ever been a therapy?

I wouldn't say therapy, it's more of an excitement adrenaline rush for me. It's always 50/50 whether a song actually makes it to the rehearsal room. But when you know that the song feels right. Excitement starts to build, ideas are flowing and I can't wait to get in the rehearsal room with the lads and start building it into a Stillia tune. Then we all start to buzz watching the tune take shape. It's just an exciting thing writing.
