What was it like playing the Isle of Wight festival ?

It was magically. We felt like the crowd really embraced us. It’s always a challenge to play festivals, as you’re potentially winning over a lot of people who have never seen you or heard you music before but it didn’t take long for the crowd to be engaged. We’ve been buzzing since that set.

What was the coolest thing about shooting a music video for ‘Algorithm Prison’?

Music videos can be a long, stressful, draining process but this one was really fun to make. I guess we can thank Mat Brooks, who directed the video, for that. He took on the stress and organisation and done an amazing job. It was nice to see so many fans turn up to be part of the video and get involved and the outcome really reflects the theme of the tune, so we’re really happy with it.

How does music make you feel? / has it ever been your therapy?

Music is absolutely like therapy. Even if we look at it through the most tribal perspective; just look at the World Cup. Songs like ‘Three Lions’ bring 1000s of people together, sharing similar emotions and feelings and it doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, music binds people together, which is an amazing thing. Personally, if I’ve had a shit day, just sitting down with my acoustic guitar for a few hours can take me away to another world and hat’s vital for mental well-being. I tend to get5 absolute lost in music and playing and listening to music is a very emotional process.

What’s your biggest inspiration / biggest goal you want to achieve ?

My biggest goal in life is to just always make art. I draw a lot, write poetry and music. If I’m not creating or playing music, I’m not myself. Having 1000s of people hear the outcome of my art is a plus but I’d hope that I’m always able to create something fresh. My biggest inspiration is just things I see and things that happen to me. Life experiences, observing people in the community, friends, family, society. It is ever changing and evolving and changes hour by hour.

What makes music so important to you?

Music keeps me sane and gives me focus. It always gives me a platform to express myself both physically and emotionally and gives me a chance to have my say.
