LADY BIRD

How does music make you feel & has it ever been a therapy ?

Music is an incredible powerful force in all of our lives. Not only is a platform for us to talk and deal with our own issues in a creative space but we can also find solace in being able to escape to an album or an EP or even just 30 seconds of a track. Music can take you elsewhere. So in that sense it’s therapy to me. (Alex)

What’s your best musical experience ?

There has been many, amongst Reading and Leeds, selling out our first ever London headline show and announcing our own headline tour but supporting slaves for their UK shows last year and that moment when we walked on to stage at ally pally. That was a moment I’ll never forget.

What makes music so important to you ?

I think what makes music so important is that it’s able to be therapy and help and support you through a period of time or it can be a celebration. It can be anything you want it to be. It’s yours to create and the possibilities are truly endless. It’s an exploration and it’s fun and I wouldn’t wanna be without it.

Who has been the best band to support ?

We’ve had the pleasure of supporting some great bands so far. Wolf Alice at the Tunbridge Wells forum will always be special. We played a bbc introducing show with Willie j Healey and whenyoung in February 2018 and the energy at that was buzzing. But slaves on their uk tour has certainly been the biggest we’ve done, and probably the best!! It’s inspiring to watch them do their thing. True originals pushing things forward.
