What was the thing you were most nervous about when you released ‘pop-ups’?

Mainly that people will still be into the music that we release. It's felt like an age since the last time we released anything, but it's only been a few months. For this song as well, it's kind of a weird theme lyrically, so I was hoping it would still connect with people somehow. Luckily, it seems to have gone down well so far! 

What makes music so important to you?

For me, the best thing about music is how, whatever mood you find yourself in, there's a perfect song or album to take you somewhere else. It can bring you from a slump, or put you on top of the world. I also love how you end up with songs soundtracking parts of your life. I often have an association with artists and an occasion or time in my life. The two kind of go hand in hand. 

What was it like filming a live session for mahogany ?

It was class. I've been watching those sessions for years, so to get the honor to perform in front of the camera, rather than watching from behind a computer screen, was pretty special. They're all so well shot, and the sound is always impeccable. Well done them.
